Unbelievable

I'm finding more and more blog posts are, as the title of this post suggests, 'Unbelievable'. Maybe 'Unbelievable' isn't the correct word to use, maybe the word to use is 'Waffle'. When I was involved in the entertainment industry 'waffle' was widespread. The stories that bands and entertainment agents forwarded to newspapers and that they printed would make make fiction writers turn green with envy.

The Bog-Standard Bloggy Rockers have just finished a 6 week tour of the USA and are appearing at the Bog-Standard Ballroom of Boogie on Saturday night' really means they haven't been working for a month and are lucky to have a booking, they're that bad.

One of the funniest I remember was an article in the Sunday World about a stripper who 'Strips for Jesus' This guy was having bad publicity here in Northern Ireland and his agent thought that a write up like that would change things. It did change things for him, only 5 women turned up one night at a show he had in a pub in Newtownards.

To me, these unbelievable blog posts mainly originate from experts in the US and it's all to promote their own ego's and their blogs. It's so easy for newspapers to print anything and even easier for bloggers to post anything. Use a quote from a 'so called expert blogger' to re-enforce your argument. The so called 'expert blogger' of course is probably a bigger waffler than most other bloggers and because bloggers generally seem to be so passive the expert blogger is perceived to be what they've created themselves.

And...

Bloggers seem to be getting too 'politically correct' . Anti - racist, Anti-war, Pro-Gay etc. I better stop now and save som more ranting for another day.
