Vote for Lisnagunogue!

The race is on for 22 of the UK’s most popular locations to be immortalised on the world famous board game, Monopoly. The communities of the UK’s villages, towns and cities will be rallying together to vote for the chance to be included in the ultimate list of UK locations. For over 70 years the official Monopoly board has represented the most valuable locations in London but for the first time ever, makers Parker will decide on the 22 locations not by the cost of the property or its notoriety but on the passion of its people. The winning locations will be featured on a new Monopoly Here and Now UK Edition board to be released in October. Monopoly lovers will have the chance to get their town or village on the board, simply by voting online and encouraging friends and neighbours to do the same. In a nation as passionate as the UK we could be looking at a very different board by the time voting completes. Everyday the site will list the top 22 locations that have the most votes. Any location could make the grade, Sheffield could become The Strand or will it be beaten by Staines? The way the voting takes place could even mean that the UK’s capital fails to feature if their residents lack the enthusiasm to vote for London. Even Edinburgh, Cardiff and Belfast could fail to make the grade and be beaten by Milngavie, Port Talbot and Waringstown. Joanna Austin from Parker comments: “It’s very exciting to see which location will have the most passionate population. The people of the UK are massively patriotic and will certainly get behind their cities, towns and villages.[source]
